Dawood Research Institute was founded in the year 2022 by Dr. Dauda Abubakar who obtained his PhD from the famous Freie Universität Berlin, Germany in the year 2014. He is an experience researcher since 2002 and his stay in Berlin boosted his research ability until 2014 when he returned to Nigeria to continue with teaching and research. Currently, Dr. Abubakar is an Associate Professor with the Department of Religion and Philosophy, University of Jos, Nigeria and a part-time researcher with the Indiana University, USA as well as a member of the editorial team of the Journal of Muslim Philanthropy and Civil Society, Indiana University, USA. The major aim of the Research Institute is to contribute in tackling the menace of under development, poverty, and poor marketing skills for companies and businesses existing in Nigeria and Africa. With his wealth of experience in lecturing and research, he sees research as a necessary tool for any meaningful development in Africa while the lack of it maintains the situation of underdevelopment. Dr. Abubakar believes that inadequate research is one of the situations that collapse the society, businesses, and companies both in Nigeria and around Africa. For these reasons and more, he came up with this unique research Institute known as Dawood Research Institute as a contribution towards development. Since its establishment, the Institute has embarked on writing proposals and conducting researches on different social issues. Articles, research reports, conference proceedings and books will be produce from the various researches by the Institute.
In addition, the Research Institute will be performing research consultation and training of especially young researchers that wanted to achieve greater height in the area of research, we hope that this effort will produce many researchers that will contribute to community development in Africa. The training encompasses both theory and practice in fieldwork as we undertake different researches. The Institute also aims at obtaining research funding from both local and international organizations, sponsors, and donors that will enable it to conduct researches and organizing conferences, seminars, and workshops. This will be achieved through collaboration with local and international institutions, research Institute, and organizations.
